Because I am a photographer I understand the importance of putting myself, with my family, in front of the camera.
So last year I hired an amazing Dutch photographer Susan, to photograph one day in my life. My family is quite small, not having children, but this does not mean that it is not worth being remembered and told.
I know the day will come when I want to remember the moments of my life when the gray hair was easy to keep under control, when we cuddled ourselves to sleep and we woke up with a kiss every morning. My only regret is not having done this a few years ago, when our first cat was still alive.
The photo session gave us the right “excuse” to go to Venice again. The city where we’ve met. Have I’ve told the story of how we’ve met? Did you know the photography played an important part in it? NO, well …I’ll share with you this super romantic story some other time (and the photos Filippo took that day).
Back to us, back to today. I’ve found myself looking at Susan’s photos countless times.
Her art allowed me to travel back in time and space as much as I wanted, and I found so much comfort in this, during the quarantine.
Now I’m just waiting for the photo album! I can’t wait to have it in my hands!
