How long does the present endure?
Two to three seconds, they say — the time in which we sense the moment, the now. Long enough to recreate a scene and acknowledge a story.
I am Lavinia and I’m here to make that moment in time last, just as it is: I’m a photographer of families and family life — happy, frustrated, noisy, pensive, sloppy… I capture moments of every shape and size.
I deliver them as intact memories — pages of a book of everyday life written in careful silence, on tiptoe, through the lights and shadows of documentary photography.
“It’s like everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always.
All the time. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.”
Patrick Rothfuss (The Name of the Wind)
